Terms & Conditions

1. Orders

1.1 Minimum Quantities
a) Fabric orders are supplied in multiples of 0.5 metre, unless the product is sold by pattern repeat or as specified by the manufacturer. The minimum order quantity is 1 metre unless otherwise advised.

b) Wallpaper is supplied by the roll unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.

c) Certain products, including trims, rugs, furniture and accessories, may have manufacturer minimum order quantities which will be advised at the time of quotation.

1.2 Large Orders
For fabric orders exceeding 10 metres, minimum drop lengths and cutting requirements must be advised when placing the order. Haus for Design cannot accept responsibility for any shortage or wastage where this information has not been provided.

1.3 Order Confirmation & Cancellation
All orders are considered final once confirmed with Haus for Design and submitted to the supplier.

As many products are imported or cut specifically for each order, cancellations or amendments cannot be guaranteed. Haus for Design reserves the right to refuse any cancellation request once an order has been processed or placed with the manufacturer. Any approved cancellation may incur administration, freight or supplier cancellation charges.

1.4 Product Information
Whilst every effort is made to provide accurate information regarding availability, lead times, widths, colourways and stock levels, all information is subject to confirmation by the manufacturer and may change without notice.

It is the purchaser's responsibility to verify product specifications, suitability, quantities and current lead times prior to placing an order.

2. Pricing

All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are exclusive of GST unless otherwise stated.

Prices are subject to change without notice due to fluctuations in supplier pricing, exchange rates, freight costs or import duties. Orders already confirmed and paid will not be affected by subsequent price changes.

3. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • All first-time orders and special indent orders require full payment prior to ordering.

  • Approved trade account holders must pay invoices strictly in accordance with their agreed trading terms.

  • Goods remain the property of Haus for Design until payment has been received in full.

Late payments may result in suspension of trading privileges or future orders.

4. Delivery

a) Delivery details must be supplied when the order is placed.

b) All deliveries are made at the purchaser's risk once dispatched from the warehouse or supplier.

c) Unless otherwise instructed, all deliveries will be sent with Authority to Leave (ATL) where available. The purchaser accepts responsibility for any loss, theft or damage occurring after delivery.

d) Freight charges are payable by the purchaser unless otherwise agreed.

e) Delivery dates are estimates only. Haus for Design shall not be liable for delays caused by manufacturers, freight companies, customs clearance, port congestion, weather events, industrial action or any other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

5. Inspection & Claims

The purchaser must inspect all goods immediately upon delivery.

Any claims relating to shortages, incorrect goods, visible damage or manufacturing faults must be made in writing within 7 days of the invoice or delivery date.

No claim will be accepted after goods have been cut, fabricated, installed, treated or otherwise altered.

Where a manufacturing fault is accepted, Haus for Design's liability is limited, at its discretion, to:

  • replacement of the goods;

  • repair of the goods where appropriate; or

  • refund of the purchase price.

Haus for Design is not responsible for labour costs, installation costs, making-up charges, removal costs, consequential losses or any associated expenses.

6. Product Suitability

The purchaser is solely responsible for determining whether the selected product is suitable for its intended application.

Haus for Design provides product information supplied by manufacturers but does not guarantee suitability for any particular project, environment or installation.

Professional installation and fabrication by qualified tradespeople is strongly recommended.

7. Colour, Shade & Natural Variations

Decorative textiles, wallpapers, wallcoverings, natural fibres and handcrafted products may exhibit variations in:

  • colour

  • texture

  • weave

  • print alignment

  • finish

  • pattern placement

  • width

Variations between production batches are an inherent characteristic of these products and do not constitute defects.

Clients should order sufficient quantities to complete the project at one time.

Should additional quantities be required, Haus for Design recommends providing a cutting and dye lot (where available). An exact match cannot be guaranteed.

8. Fabric Performance

Certain fabrics may naturally move, stretch, relax or shrink depending on:

  • environmental conditions

  • humidity

  • temperature

  • installation method

  • proximity to heating or cooling systems

This is considered a natural characteristic of many decorative textiles and does not constitute a manufacturing defect.

All fabrics should be adequately protected from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, UV light, moonlight and excessive heat through the use of linings, blinds, glazing or other suitable window treatments.

9. Treatments

Haus for Design accepts no responsibility for the performance of fabrics or wallpapers following the application of any third-party treatment including, but not limited to:

  • fire retardant treatments

  • stain protection

  • soil repellents

  • waterproofing

  • antimicrobial coatings

Testing should always be undertaken prior to treatment as such applications may alter the appearance, colour, texture or performance of the product.

10. Returns

As the majority of products supplied by Haus for Design are cut to order, imported or specially ordered from international manufacturers:

  • Fabric cut lengths cannot be returned.

  • Wallpaper cannot be returned.

  • Trims cannot be returned once cut.

  • Special indent products cannot be returned.

  • Furniture, rugs and custom products cannot be returned unless deemed faulty.

Returns approved at the discretion of Haus for Design may be subject to a 30% restocking fee, together with any supplier freight, import or handling charges.

11. Retention of Title

Ownership of all goods remains with Haus for Design until payment has been received in full.

Until ownership passes, Haus for Design reserves the right to recover any unpaid goods and enter any premises where those goods are reasonably believed to be stored.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Haus for Design shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental or special loss or damage, including loss of profits, project delays or third-party claims arising from the supply or use of its products.

Nothing within these Terms excludes any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Acceptance

Placement of an order with Haus for Design constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions of Sale.

The most current version of these Terms & Conditions is available on the Haus for Design website and may be updated from time to time without prior notice.


Additional Terms & Conditions

14. Trade Accounts

Trade accounts are available only to approved businesses operating within the design, architectural, decorating or furnishings industries.

Approval of a trade account is at the sole discretion of Haus for Design.

Haus for Design reserves the right to:

  • suspend or cancel a trade account at any time;

  • amend credit limits or trading terms without notice;

  • require payment in advance for any order;

  • refuse supply where an account is overdue.

Trade pricing is confidential and must not be disclosed to third parties.

15. Credit Terms

Approved credit account holders agree to pay all invoices by the due date shown on the invoice.

Haus for Design reserves the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at a rate of 2% per month, calculated daily, together with any reasonable debt recovery, legal or collection costs incurred in recovering outstanding monies.

Should an account remain overdue, Haus for Design may suspend further deliveries until all outstanding amounts have been paid in full.

16. Samples

Memo samples, hanger samples and sampling materials remain the property of Haus for Design or the respective manufacturer unless otherwise advised.

Sample charges may apply and are refundable only where stated.

Returned samples must be received in good condition within the specified return period.

Samples are intended as guides only and may not represent the exact colour, texture or appearance of the final production run.

17. Product Images & Marketing Material

Photography, brochures, catalogues, digital images and product descriptions are intended as a guide only.

Due to screen calibration, printing methods and manufacturing variations, colours may differ from the actual product.

Haus for Design accepts no liability for purchasing decisions based solely on digital imagery or printed marketing material.

18. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, photography, catalogues, branding, artwork and marketing materials remain the intellectual property of Haus for Design or the respective manufacturers.

No material may be copied, reproduced, distributed or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

19. Privacy

Haus for Design respects your privacy and collects personal information solely for the purposes of processing orders, managing accounts, providing customer service and complying with legal obligations.

Information may be shared with freight providers, manufacturers and payment providers where necessary to fulfil an order.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

20. Website Orders

Orders placed via the Haus for Design website are subject to these Terms & Conditions.

Submission of an online order does not constitute acceptance by Haus for Design.

Orders remain subject to:

  • stock availability;

  • supplier confirmation;

  • pricing verification; and

  • payment approval.

Haus for Design reserves the right to cancel or amend any order where an error in pricing, product information or availability has occurred.

21. Force Majeure

Haus for Design shall not be liable for any delay, interruption or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure arises from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • acts of God;

  • natural disasters;

  • pandemics;

  • war;

  • terrorism;

  • industrial disputes;

  • shipping delays;

  • customs delays;

  • supplier shortages;

  • government actions;

  • cyber incidents; or

  • failures of transport or communication networks.

Delivery dates are estimates only and may be affected by these circumstances.

22. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

23. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing contained within these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law where such rights cannot legally be excluded.

Where permitted by law, Haus for Design's liability is limited to the replacement, repair or refund of the goods supplied.

24. Acceptance of Terms

By requesting a quotation, placing an order, making payment or accepting delivery of goods supplied by Haus for Design, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full.

These Terms & Conditions supersede all previous versions and may be updated from time to time without prior notice.
